Choosing your dining options while staying at our Cotswolds B&B is important. Restaurants around here get booked up quickly and the idea of booking a restaurant and taxi at 6pm on a Friday is not an option. It is important to book ahead and I am more than willing to book restaurants and taxis ahead of time for my guests.
Although there are many quality dining options around Shipston-On-Stour, one of the best fine dining options is Buckland Manor.
Buckland Manor is a 13th-century manor house set in 10 acres of beautiful gardens. The restaurant won the Cotswold Hotel Restaurant of the Year Award 2015 and they also have a great wine cellar.
There is also a helicopter pad in case you don’t feel like driving!
A few years ago I celebrated a birthday (not going to say which one!!) at Buckland with 12 friends and is was an amazing night.
The food is always interesting and the setting sublime.
Afternoon tea is also fantastic but it is not the place to turn up to in muddy jeans and wellies! Summer in the garden is also a heavenly experience as the garden is beautifully laid out and very cleverly planted.
Important points.
- Buckland serve fine dining size portions so if you want hearty pub food with lashings of gravy this is not the best option for you.
- The dress code is smart casual and gentlemen are expected to wear a jacket in the dining room.
- As fresh local produce is used, the menu changes often so have a look at the sample menus for here see if this would suit you.
Enjoy!
