One of our reasons for opening a B&B in Shipston-On-Stour was that Shipston is a delightfully diverse town and there always seems to be something going on. On Friday night we dropped in to the excellent Sheldon Wines which is using the courtyard for a wine bar during the summer.

Sheldon Wines is a very interesting company with a long, rich history including hosting some of the first IRA negotiations in their very impressive board/dining room. They also have extensive cellars which extend out under the roads surrounding them and rumour has it that these cellars are connected to a set of tunnels running under Shipston. During our renovations we tried to find these tunnels in order to access their cellars but, alas, it was not to be.

Sheldons also host tours of these cellars with a wine tasting (which needs to be pre-booked).

On Friday evening they also had the brilliant Lord and Lady food Company in attendance. We bumped into one of our friends there and spent the evening drinking an excellent beaujolais and tucking in to the great tasting burgers.
